My own journey into social work began as a middle school student in a counseling group for “at-risk” students. This experience, guided by an exceptional clinical social worker, shaped my life. He taught me to consider all facets of life when making decisions and inspired me to give back to my community. In 2000 I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree at East Carolina University, becoming the first in my family to attend college.
While completing my degree, I married a Marine, which led to a diverse career providing social work services across various communities. In 2022, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from North Carolina Central University, solidifying my path as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I am licensed in the state of North Carolina (C019694). I am also a Certified Social Worker (CSW) and a Licensed School Social Worker (LSSW) in the state of North Carolina.
I have over 26 years of social work experience in the fields of child welfare, education, and community mental health. In 2022, I began working part-time as a psychotherapist in a small private group practice. In 2023, I stepped away from the field of school social work and began providing psychotherapy, full-time. Leveraging my relationships with other colleagues, I branched out into my own solo private practice in 2024.
